Theresa M. Straut is currently the Human Protection Administrator (HPA) for the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) Army Research Laboratory’s (ARL) Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. CCDC ARL’s HRPP provides oversight for engineering and social & behavioral research conducted and/or supported by CCDC ARL. Ms. Straut has worked in the clinical and regulatory affairs arena for nearly 30 years. She has held positions with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as three contract research organizations and an independent IRB. Ms. Straut maintains the Certified IRB Professional (CIP) and Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) certifications. Ms. Straut is also an experienced trainer and auditor and a former member of the Editorial Advisory Board for ACRP’s, “The Monitor”.
