Kelly Dornin-Koss, MPPM, RN, CIP, CCRC, Director, Education and Compliance Office for Human Subject Research, University of Pittsburgh.
Kelly has served as the Director of the Education and Compliance Office for Human Subject Research (ECO-HSR) since 1999 and the Co-Director of the Office of Research Protections since 2006. She has over 20 years of experience in the area of compliance in human subject research. As the first staff person hired in the ECO-HSR in 1996, she was instrumental in the development of the investigator site auditing/monitoring program at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to performing compliance reviews, Kelly and the ECO-HSR staff have assisted in the organization of numerous educational events for the research community and have played a key role in the development of the orientation program for research coordinators and continue to serve as lecturers for this program. Kelly also serves as the project manager for maintaining the accreditation of the University of Pittsburgh’s human research protection program. This accreditation is offered through the Association for Accreditation for Human Research Protection Program (AAHRPP). Prior to her work in research, Kelly worked as a nurse in a variety of clinical settings.
