Charlotte Coley
Ms. Coley, Education & Training Manager at UNC-Chapel Hill Office Human Research Ethics; has over 25 years’ experience working with both behavioral and clinical research IRBs. Previous work was done at Battelle Memorial Institute and Duke University Health System IRB for Clinical Research. Earlier career included work with environmental, public health and international education projects with several U.S. Departments and Agencies --EPA, NIEHS, AID, CDC, the Department of State and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
She is an active member of Public Responsibility in Medicine & Research (PRIM&R) receiving their Distinguished Service Award in 2009. Ms. Coley served on the breakout session planning committee for the PRIM&R AER conferences for 8 years, 4 years as co-chair; a frequent presenter at PRIM&R conferences, co-designer of a 1-day workshop for investigators; presenter at HHS, OHRP Workshops and other regional bioethics conferences. Ms. Coley is a nonscientist member of the UNC-CH & Copernicus Group IRBs and an AAHRPP Step 1 & Site Visitor.
She has a Master of Arts in College Teaching, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and received her Certified IRB Professional (CIP) in 2003.
