Human Protections Administrator

Sandy Martinez is the Human Protections Administrator for the Human Subjects Review Council (HSRC), Central Washington University's (CWU) IRB. Since moving to Ellensburg, Washington in 2008, Sandy has worked as the administrator of the HSRC. She also serves as an ex-oficio voting board member. In September 2018, Sandy transitioned the HSRC office to an electronic application submission and management system. In May 2019, the HSRC hosted the Pacific Northwest Regional IRB forum on the CWU campus where 20 attendees from 11 institutions in the region participated in a one-day discussion on current IRB issues.
Sandy received her MA in Sociological Practice from California State University, San Marcos in 2003. Her professional experience has always been in the area of social and behavioral research. She taught classes in sociology and worked as a statistician in the Policy and Program Support at the County of San Diego's Child Welfare Services. In her free time, Sandy enjoys spending time with her family and scrapbooking with friends.
