Our education often focuses on the medical details of intricate presentations or the newest research on resuscitation, but today I will focus on the interpersonal aspect that is key throughout medicine. I bring four critical tips from a role model in the movie “The Princess Bride” to make interactions more beneficial, helping your establish rapport. No prior knowledge of the movie is needed, I plan to both entertain and educate you regardless. Good communication will improve your ability to share information with your colleagues, and you will find improved satisfaction from your patients. These will be skills you will find useful on every shift.
