You have worked for a quarter of a decade as a student or resident and the time has come to enter the real world. As a resident or current fellow you wonder what to ask and how to prepare for a job interview. We present a mock interview session with audience Questions and Answers to show you what to do and what not to do when you interview for a job after residency. Regardless if you are seeking an academic position, hybrid partial academic job, or pure community practice job, this interactive session will help you best prepare for your interview. This session is led by academic and non-academic leaders in emergency medicine who have interviewed and hired hundreds of people just like you for their first job. You will learn what the questions are that you may be asked, but more importantly you will learn what the most important questions are that you should ask of a potential employer to understand: the clinical environment, the compensation system, the practice culture, and the non-work related environment that you need to make the best decisions for your future. Attendees will see hiring leaders mock interview mock candidates for a potential position. We will demonstrate optimal and sub-optimal interview skills and importantly tell you what question you need to ask to determine if the potential job is a good fit for you.
