Dr. Goldberg is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Health Services, Policy and Practice. She is a board-certified emergency physician practicing at Rhode Island and Miriam hospitals. She completed her internship, residency, chief residency, and research fellowship at Brown University. She is a graduate of the post-doctoral research fellowship at the Center of Gerontology and Healthcare Research at Brown University (AHRQ T32) and a graduate of the Masters of Epidemiology program at the Brown School of Public Health.
Her research interests lie in aging and health services research. She is the principal investigator of a National Institutes of Health-funded fall prevention study for older adults in the Emergency Department (GAPcare). Her prior work has focused on improving ED physician's assessments of patients with complex medical needs and chronic conditions including ED evaluation and management of asymptomatic hypertension, asthma and care transitions for nursing home patients.
Dr. Goldberg is the Geriatric Faculty Champion for the Department of Emergency Medicine. She is the current Vice President for Corporate Development of the Academy for Women in Academic Emergency Medicine.
