Career Epidemiology Field Officer
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Assigned to the Maryland Department of Health
Jessica Goodell currently serves as a CDC Career Epidemiology Field Officer assigned to the Maryland Department of Health Office of Preparedness and Response. Ms. Goodell joined the CDC in 2012 after serving in the Peace Corps in Albania. Her work has spanned a wide-array of public health subject areas with the common theme being to utilize data for informed policy decisions and strategic planning. Ms. Goodell also has global health experience building local capacity in program management and epidemiology as well as emergency management and response as a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and Epi-Aid deployed to Sierra Leone as part of CDC’s Ebola Response efforts and American Samoa for Zika. Ms. Goodell received a BS and MPH in public health from The George Washington University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She grew up in the sunshine state of Florida and enjoys learning, traveling, physical activity and all things food-related.
