Public Safety Director, Heroin Response Strategy
High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Program
John C. (Jack) Killorin, Public Safety Director, Heroin Response Strategy, High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Program, comes to that position after over 40 years of service in local and federal law enforcement. Jack served as the Director of Atlanta – Carolinas High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, from 2006 until retiring from it in February 2018. He retired in November 2002 as the Special Agent in Charge for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. In that position he served as a member of the HIDTA Executive Board in Atlanta. He joined ATF in March 1976 as a special agent in the Philadelphia Field Division having served from 1972 as a police officer and Vice and Narcotics Detective with the Norfolk, Virginia Police Department. During his tenure with ATF, Jack served as a member of the Executive Staff of ATF and held positions as the Chief, Public Affairs Branch and Executive Assistant to the Director for Liaison and Public Information. He is a U.S Navy veteran.
