Chip R. Eakins is the Advocacy Coordinator for The Philadelphia Center, a nonprofit organization in Shreveport, Louisiana that provides housing and supportive services to low-income persons with HIV/AIDS as well as education, outreach, and testing. The Philadelphia Center serves NW Louisiana in the surrounding parishes of Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne, Bienville, Red River, De Soto, Sabine, and Natchitoches. He makes recommendations to public health officials based upon his work with clients. Nationally, Chip works with various organizations with the same goal of ending stigma and the decriminalization of HIV. A grant from Elton John Aids Foundation makes travel around the country possible. Chip has facilitated webinars, served on panels, and is always available to speak at educational /social events. Chip is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University with a BS in Business. He received his MA in communications from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas.
