Jennifer Corvalan-Wood is the Director of Community Prevention and Early Intervention, with the Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Behavioral Health, Community Prevention and Early Intervention Programs. She comes to this role with over 20 years of experience in the field of behavioral health. As Director she is responsible for managing the prevention services unit at OBH. She also works at the national level with other state prevention directors, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP), National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors (NASADAD) National Prevention Network to assist in developing national prevention policies. Jennifer also serves as the Colorado Representative to the National Prevention Network. She is a member of the leadership team at the Office of Behavioral Health and represents prevention. Jennifer has co-authored an article on implementing evidenced based programs that was published in the Counselor magazine. She is also a trainer in a variety of evidenced based programs. Prior to her role at OBH she worked in the juvenile justice system for 18 years. She holds a senior level national and state addictions counseling certification and is a certified prevention specialist.
