Jessica Edwards is a Program Evaluator at the Chapel Hill, North Carolina Center of the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation. Dr. Edwards’ work has centered on conducting evaluations of substance abuse prevention and other public health initiatives. This has included working on national evaluations as well as with states, communities, and schools on their individual evaluations. Dr. Edwards has also conducted NIH-funded research focused on substance abuse and HIV interventions. Dr. Edwards is currently evaluating several states' efforts to prevent and reduce opioid abuse and its consequences. In these roles, she provides guidance on the selection and monitoring of interventions to prevent opioid abuse and evaluates the overall processes and outcomes of the projects.
