Kailah Davis, PhD, is a Senior Health Informaticist at the Utah Department of Health (UDOH). Her current projects include improving interoperability and data integration within UDOH, building a scalable, linked, analytics infrastructure to support Utah’s opioid-initiatives, and integrating Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA) into Utah’s integrated surveillance system. In addition, Dr. Davis works closely with Utah Department of Commerce’s Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL) to enhance Utah’s Prescription Drug Monitoring Program information system. Furthermore, she manages the Utah Department of Health Center for Health Data Informatics sub-contracts for three federally funded opioid-related grants. Prior to this, she successfully managed the analytical infrastructure development group that supported the development of Utah Health Services Research Data Center. She also was the first Utah Department of Health sponsored Clinical and Translational Science KL2 Scholar at the University of Utah. Dr. Davis currently serves on the Utah Clinical Health Information Exchange Value Taskforce and the Prescription Monitoring Information Exchange Architecture Operations Subcommittee, and is an Adjunct Professor with the University of Utah Department of Biomedical Informatics.
