Assistant Professor of Anthropology
Jennifer J. Carroll, PhD, MPH, is a medical anthropologist, research scientist, and subject matter expert on substance use and public health. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Elon University in North Carolina and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine the Alpert Medical School at Brown University in Rhode Island. Dr. Carroll’s book, Narkomania: Drugs, HIV, and Citizenship in Ukraine, is an ethnographic study of internationally-funded treatment programs for opioid use disorder in the midst of ongoing geopolitical conflict in Ukraine. It will be released by Cornell University Press in late spring 2019.
