Jeffery Talbert, PhD is Professor and the Joseph Schutte Professor of Pharmaceutical Policy at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. He serves as Director of the Institute for Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy, and Associate Director of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science. He is a health services researcher focused on the intersection of public policy and health care outcomes. He completed a PhD in political science and public policy from Texas A&M University and has served as a research fellow for the US Congress, as a faculty member in a school of public policy, as a faculty member and department chair in public health, and as a faculty member, associate chair, and center director in a College of Pharmacy. Talbert’s research is broadly focused on health services research specializing in Medicaid policy, public health informatics, and pharmaceutical outcomes. His current research program focuses on two areas: improving health outcomes and efficiency for state Medicaid programs, and policy issues related to reducing substance use disorder.
