Medical Operations Coordinator

Peggy D. Baikie, DNP, RN, PNP-BC, NNP-BC, is the Medical Operations Coordinator for the State of Colorado, Department of Human Services, Division of Youth Services. Her responsibilities include overseeing 10 medical clinics in state secure juvenile correctional facilities. She also is an affiliate professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver and is both a board certified pediatric and neonatal nurse practitioner. In addition, she is a regular contributing author for Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins, a publisher of medical and nursing texts. She is the recipient of the highest state nursing award, the Colorado Nursing Foundation Nightingale Award for excellence in caring.
Dr. Baikie has an extensive background in the care and treatment of high-risk youth and maintains a widespread collaborative, multi-disciplinary framework of practice. She has presented her work at the local, national and international levels. She is active in multi-systems collaboration to provide comprehensive care for cross-over youth and victims of human trafficking. She includes working with families and believes strongly in providing holistic care to the underserved. She is the past president of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine and continues to be very active in the chapter
