Prescription Practices/Third Party Payer
This session will take an in-depth look at how Anthem has partnered in two provider relationships to enhance quality and comprehensive treatment for opioid use disorder through payment and service delivery innovation. An Anthem representative will be joined by representatives of its two partners: AWARE Recovery Services (Connecticut and New Hampshire markets) and MAP Health (Georgia market). They will explain the AWARE Recovery service delivery structure and how its contract with Anthem has leveraged payment innovation to ensure holistic, multi-disciplinary substance use disorder treatment services, such as certified peer recovery specialist services, addictions medicine services (to facilitate medication-assisted treatment), care consolation services, professional counseling with licensed addictions clinicians, and partnership with primary care and Anthem case management services. They will demonstrate delivery of high-quality, home-based services that incorporate integrative care through payment innovation. From MAP Health Management, participants will learn about its structure, which focuses on peer recovery support for Anthem members discharging from residential treatment center levels of care in its Georgia market. Discussion will include the MAP/Anthem partnership to work with provider contracting to ensure that case rate for locally based and virtual peer recovery support are reimbursed adequately, as well as MAP’s commitment to programmatic outcomes that demonstrate decreased recidivism and decreased total health care spending for patients who engage in their services.
