Julio Sánchez y Tépoz, Esq: Law Degree, University of Puebla, Mexico. MS in Economic Development, Complutense University Madrid, Spain.
Mr. Sánchez y Tépoz held office in the Mexican Federal Government, as Head Office of the Mexican Attorney General involved in international cooperation for the administration of legal affairs and justice in Europe, Latin America, the UN and other specialized organizations. Office as Legal Director, General Direction Regulated Markets, Federal Government Commission for Competence focused on telecommunications, energy and transportation and further assigned Deputy Director General Monopolistic Research Practices.
Mr. Sánchez y Tépoz served as Director, General Procedures for the Federal Consumer Attorney's Office (PROFECO) responsible for sanctioning on misleading advertising and violations of the Federal Consumer Protection Law and further appointed Head of Coordination International Analysis, Intelligence Unit, Mexican Federal Police.
On March, 2011 Mr. Sánchez y Tépoz joined the Federal Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (COFEPRIS) as Chief of Staff. On July, 2012 Mr. Sánchez y Tépoz was appointed Commissioner of Health Promotion. From March, 2016 to December, 2018 Mr. Sánchez y Tépoz was appointed Federal Commissioner of Health, COFEPRIS by presidential mandate.
Presently, Mr. Sánchez y Tépoz is President of ALó ProSciences Latin American Association of Regulatory Affairs Professionals, a non-profit organization focused on promoting Good Regulatory Practices (GRP) and Regulatory Policy in the Latin American region, training and educating Regulatory professionals aiming to strengthen regulatory systems, improve access and affordability of assured quality products, technology and advanced regulatory knowledge across the Latin American region.
