This session will discuss how the NIH Disaster Research Response (DR2) Program, University of Arizona, Tucson, Pima County, and other stakeholders worked together to develop and implement timely studies to understand large scale clinical and community health impacts from a chemical disaster.
Part B: Decision Support for Large-Scale Hazardous Releases
IMAAC is a 24/7 federal resource available to provide decision support to state/local officials during large-scale CBRN releases. The presentation covers IMAAC's capabilities and services using case studies from the 2017 Arkema Chemical plant fire following Hurricane Harvey and the 2015 Maryville, Tenn. train derailment and Acrylonitrile release.
