Part A: Mission Ready MRC: Partnering to Prevent Mosquito-borne Diseases
In response to the emerging threat of Zika and other mosquito-borne diseases, Los Angeles County organized MRC into ZAP teams to support vector support missions. Presenter will share process for developing mission ready team and outcomes of exercises with vector control staff to rapidly suppress mosquito-borne disease transmission.
Part B: Standard Response Packages: Leveraging Medical Reserve Corps Volunteers for Emergency Responses
Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) volunteers are a valuable resource to consider during disasters. This session will expand on the concept of using Standard Response Packages (SRPs) as a tool to identify trained and deployable resources at the local level--providing a mission focused opportunity for MRC units to demonstrate their capability.
