Manufacturing and Bioprocessing – Chemical
2019 PharmSci 360
Nasal delivery of active compounds has been and will continue to be of interest to the pharmaceutical industry. However, a nasal formulation cannot work by itself and needs to be successfully paired with a delivery device to ensure delivery to the nasal cavity. This presentation will share the device requirements for a powder nasal delivery system and describe how a formulation needs to be engineered both chemically and physically to ensure proper delivery and absorption of the drug substance. Manufacturing methods for the production of a nasal powder will be shared along with how the physical attributes of a powder impact the functionality of a device.
