Dr. Sumit Arora is a Senior Research Scientist (Virtual Bioequivalence) in the modelling and simulation group at Certara Simcyp. He is involved in implementation of new features in Advances dissolution absorption and metabolism (ADAM) model in Simcyp V18 and V19. This involves implementation of particle population balance model for handling two solid states, food staggering, inclusion of surface pH models for bases and ampholytes and handling salt dissolution. He received his PhD from National Institute of Pharmaceutics Education and Research (NIPER), SAS Nagar, India and was recipient of Endeavor Research Fellowship at University of Sydney and DAAD Scholar at Max Planck Institute of Polymer Research. Prior to joining Simcyp, he was leading the biopharmaceutics group at Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering (RCPE), GmBH, Graz, Austria. He has experience in handling projects investigating the biopharmaceutics characteristics of oral and dermal products and combining the knowledge generated from in vitro experiments with the advanced physiology based pharmacokinetic models to identify key attributes driving performance of the products. Dr. Arora has co-authored more than 10 papers in high impact, peer-reviewed journals and presented his research at several national and international conferences.
