Ekram Ahmed Chowdhury is currently a PhD candidate in Dr. Bickel’s lab at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
The focus of his PhD project is related to the development, validation and application of a bioanalytical method of a passive permeability marker. The technique was used to assess flaws in currently used non-compartmental pharmacokinetic techniques for measuring brain uptake when compared to a 3 Compartment semi-physiologic model. Additionally, he is also working on development and characterization of an Antibody mediated targeted delivery system for delivering oligonucleotides.
Prior to his graduate education, Ekram also worked in Novartis and Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh for 5 years where he gained valuable insights on formulation development and optimization, scale-up, process validation as well as tech transfer of products.
