Jonathan Wade, Ph.D, is a Senior Research Scientist at Eli Lilly and Company. He earned his Bachelors degree in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Loughborough University in the UK, his Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Technology from King's College London in the UK, and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Science also from King’s College London in the UK. He has over 17 years experience across late stage product development, scale up, technology transfer, process validation and post-launch optimization, with a focus on solid oral dosage forms. He has extensive experience in process validation program management and execution for both immediate and modified release dosage forms, and led the implementation and global harmonization of the process validation lifeycle approach for both batch and continuous manufacturing proceses at Lilly. He recently co-led the ISPE Discussion Paper titled "Process Validation in the Context of Small Molecule Drug Substance and Drug Product Continuous Manufacturing Processes" which provides an analysis of the unique aspects of process validation for continuous processes, and is currently working on optimization of process validation practices for continuous manufacturing processes where the inherent heightened monitoring and testing are enablers to maximize efficiency.
