On behalf of NeuPSIG, I am excited to welcome you to the 7th International Congress on Neuropathic Pain in May 2019. London is a bustling international city, and we have an excellent, packed programme to engage researchers and clinicians alike.
Neuropathic pain affects up to 10% of the population, and can be one of the most distressing and damaging conditions to experience. Although we have made great advances recently in our understanding of its biological mechanisms and treatment, we are still a long way from explaining or controlling it fully. NeuPSIG’s mission is to advance the understanding of mechanisms, assessment, prevention and treatment of neuropathic pain. The bi-annual International Congress is our flagship effort in advancing this mission. We hope you will join us in this unique opportunity to meet researchers, clinicians, and others from a wide range of disciplines, countries and backgrounds, disseminating and learning about the latest developments in the field.
This Congress will welcome contributions on any aspect of neuropathic pain, but will also focus on two important causes: (1) diabetic neuropathic pain; and (2) chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathic pain. These are two of the most prevalent aetiologies that challenge us today, and they are both growing in importance as diabetes becomes more common, and as cancer survivorship improves. It is vital that we keep pace with our ability to understand and treat these conditions, and our Congress will feature the very latest knowledge, presented by the foremost scientists and clinicians in the world.
We are looking forward to your contribution to the Congress, and to meeting you soon. See you in London.
