Handovers form an essential part of nursing practice. A handover allows the nursing team to communicate patient information and needs between shifts that allow the next shift to carry on in a seamless way. The handing over the reins of the Trauma and Dissociation Unit was very much like a complex handover. This presentation will outline the importance of having good processes in place to enable the efficient running of a Trauma and Dissociation Unit and then the handing over of these processes to new staff
to enable them to take over the running of the unit. Each presenter will talk about their own experiences and challenges with this.
