Tuesday National Organization Roundtable Topics (By Invitation Only)
The American Network of Oral Health Coalitions (ANOHC) is the national network for statewide oral health coalitions. ANOHC members promote lifelong oral health by shaping policy, promoting prevention, and educating the public. Founded in 2010, ANOHC has become an important voice in national oral health policy and a central place for state-level advocates to share and coordinate policy advocacy.
In this roundtable discussion, ANOHC members will share insight and tips about how to successfully engage allies outside typical health and oral health stakeholders to facilitate community-led change and drive advocacy. Organizations and advocates who are not directly engaged in health advocacy can be some of the strongest allies in promoting policy change that will ensure everyone has equitable access to the services and resources they need to be healthy. Oral health and oral health policy affect not only overall health, but also economic security and mental health. Now is the time to take oral health policy to new stakeholders and make oral health relevant in their work.
Funders, state and local coalitions, state agency partners, and organizations that are interested in engaging new partners will have the opportunity to hear successful strategies and discuss how to create new allies and increase the impact they have to improve oral health and overall health for all people.
