H-1B Alternatives in a Climate of Increased Scrutiny

Thursday, October 17
9:00 AM - 10:15 AM
Location: Big Horn

Institutions have traditionally relied on the H-1B visa for work authorization for international employees.  However, given the intense scrutiny of H-1Bs under the Trump Administration, there is an increased need to understand alternatives for employment authorization.  This session will discuss these alternatives, particularly the O-1 visa, as well as other options (e.g., TN, J-1), and outline best practices with respect to those filings.  It will also discuss specific common situations where an alternative may be a better option based on current H-1B adjudication trends.
