USCIS Updates with Region II Ombuds and the CIS Ombuds office

Learn more about current U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) trends, practices, policies, and outreach initiatives and how NAFSA’s International Student and Scholar Regulatory Practice Committee (ISSRP) engages with USCIS.

The CIS Ombuds office will join the presentation and present remotely to discuss the role of their office, how they can be of assistance and current trends in USCIS. There will be an opportunity to submit questions to the CIS Ombuds office.

Stacey Coulthard

Program Director, SEVIS Compliance
University of Arizona

Stacey began her professional career in 2004 working as a SEVIS Compliance Coordinator for a U.S. Department of State Designated Au Pair organization. She then served as a Foreign Student and Scholar Advisor at Tufts University School of Medicine and presently serves as Program Director of SEVIS Coordinator at the University of Arizona. She balances student advocacy, while remaining focused on immigration regulations and compliance. She received her Master’s degree in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University, as well as her Bachelor's degree from University of Rhode Island with a dual major in Education and Psychology.

Courtney L. Luque Jacobson

Director, International Student and Scholar Services
Northern Arizona University

Courtney Luque is the Director of International Student and Scholar Services at Northern Arizona University, where she works with international students, scholars and employees. She has worked in international student and scholar offices at small, medium and large universities, both public and private. Courtney received her B.A. from the University of Oregon and spent two years studying abroad in Switzerland and Germany prior to teaching abroad in Honduras. After returning to the United States she completed her M.Ed. at Northern Arizona University in Bilingual and Multicultural Education. She speaks German and Spanish.
