Learn how to strategize to maximize global education experiences for the students at your institution.

I attended Hastings College and graduated with a BA in Business Administration and Human Resource Management. In 2015 I was selected as US Student Program Fulbright English Teaching Assistant where I lived and worked in Kosovo for a year. Upon my return to the United States, I returned to Hastings College as a regional and international admissions counselor in Omaha Nebraska. In 2018 I was named the first Director of International Programs at Hastings College and the lead person on campus for internationalization of campus, building an education abroad portfolio, managing international enrollment, and supporting international student's enrolled on campus.

Angela M. Perryman, M.P.A, M.A.

Director, Study Abroad & Global Engagement
University of Kansas

Angela Perryman (M.P.A., M.A.) is the Director of Study Abroad & Global Engagement at the University of Kansas (KU) where she provides strategic vision and leadership to a unit dedicated to ensuring all KU students have an intercultural or international experience prior to graduation. She previously served as the Assistant Director of Education Abroad at Colorado State University. An active member of NAFSA, Angela has held the positions of conference planner, CO state representative, Chair-Elect, Chair, and Past-Chair on the Region II team and Spain country coordinator on the NAFSA Consular Affairs Liaison Subcommittee of the EARP Committee.

Christopher Quinlan

International Program Coordinator
Brigham Young University

Christopher Quinlan joined BYU’s Kennedy Center in 2014, after a decade doing community and international development work in the non-profit sector. As an International Program Coordinator with BYU’s International Study Programs office, he now assists with the administration of study abroad, internship, and direct enrollment programs. He is also an Alternate Responsible Officer and assists students coming to BYU on J-1 visas through direct enrollment programs.

Barbara Velázquez is the coordinator of international/intercultural education at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska. For over 30 years she has served diverse student needs. For the last 10 years she has guided faculty and students pursuing education abroad experiences. Barbara has served in many volunteer roles within NAFSA including state representative, region treasurer, region Chair and chair of the regional affairs committee.
