Are you interested in knowing how your expenditures and revenues compare to other local public health agencies? Do you need to make the case for return on investment to your stakeholders? Reporting on the total costs for programs can be difficult if information is spread out among multiple sources. The Uniform Chart of Accounts (UCOA) for Public Health can help put your agency’s finances in context, simplify reporting, and provide high quality data to demonstrate the value of investing in public health. This session introduces the UCOA for Public Health and gives participants a chance to understand how to use it in their practice. Activities will include identifying specific needs for financial data, hands-on exercises in mapping agency budgets to the UCOA, demonstrations of interactive UCOA data visualizations, and how to use the visualizations to understand agency finances and communicate with funders, peers, and the public.
