October 1, 2017 was a day that changed Las Vegas. It will always be a day of remembrance for the Las Vegas community and those outside our community who were affected by the deadliest mass shooting by a single individual in America’s history. More than one year after the shooting, Las Vegas remains a community in recovery.
This session will provide participants with a description of how Las Vegas is managing recovery operations, including: valuable insight into the grant process for victims of crime; the efforts of the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center to provide outreach and services to the survivors, families, and responders; the successes and challenges in providing that outreach, especially to those who do not live in the Las Vegas/Clark County area; ongoing donations management; and how we are moving forward as the resilient community we are.
