Healthy Behaviors and Choices (e.g. Fitness, Tobacco, Opioids, Nutrition)
Sharing Session - 60 Minutes
(JUUL) use has grown dramatically in recent months to become the most commonly used tobacco product by middle and high school students. Most e-cigarettes and ALL JUULs contain nicotine, a highly addictive substance that can harm adolescent brain development and has been associated with health and behavior problems. During this session, participants learn how a health department fostered partnerships with schools and the CATCH Global Foundation to address the public health issue, e-cigarettes. Participants will be introduced to an evidence-based program for middle and high school students and learn how schools across the United States are using CATCH My Breath to deliver e-cigarette and JUUL prevention education to their students. The program is being offered free to schools across the nation thanks to our partners at CVS Health as part of their Be the First Campaign.
