The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) funds 25 state health departments to implement the Choose Safe Places for Early Care and Education program through its Partnership to Promote Local Efforts to Reduce Environmental Exposure (APPLETREE) program. The Children’s Environmental Health Network, the National Association of County and City Health Officials , and the Environmental Law Institute, in collaboration with ATSDR, are supporting the development of partnerships between APPLETREE-funded state health departments and local health departments in APPLETREE-funded states by providing connections between the State Associations of County and City Health Officials (SACCHOs) and state health departments. This session will discuss challenges, successes, and best practices shared among the health departments and SACCHOs, and demonstrate the value of these partnerships.
