How the Florida Department of Health in Broward County utilized community engagement, outreach activities, and redirection of staffing resources to increase registration for Special Needs Sheltering (SpNS). As of Sept. 25, 2018, the pediatric SpNS registry increased from 44 to 212 (382%) pediatric clients. The adult SpNS increased from 208 to 1,337 (543%) SpNS adults.
