Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease that can have very serious complications if untreated but is preventable and curable. Yet, syphilis rates are rising rapidly nationwide. Efforts to increase syphilis testing and reduce time to treatment are urgently needed and essential to combating the rising rates. To learn more about rapid syphilis test (RST) implementation and explore optimal uses of RST in outreach/non-clinical settings, NACCHO conducted a multi-site evaluation with four local health departments (LHDs).
