This session describes how a local health department partnered with local businesses to create a mass-media awareness and communications campaign to target youth use of electronic cigarettes. To address this public health issue, the St. Mary’s County Health Department (SMCHD) collaborated to create "VapeAware: Get the Facts," a health communications campaign. Through collaboration with Black Cat Design, a local graphic design business, a branding logo and print media were developed. In addition, SMCHD partnered with Comcast Spotlight to provide multi-screen advertisements targeted to youth and young adults in St. Mary’s County. These collaborative partnerships created a platform for a health awareness campaign in a historically tobacco driven rural county.
