This presentation will provide a three-tiered response to victims of crime implementing macro, mezzo, and micro level approaches to healing. This holistic approach encompasses all aspects of healing to include; a societal perspective, community based interventions, and individual, familial, and group services. The effects of abuse, neglect, violence, and maltreatment can frequently be long lasting on those who experience these types of injury and can carry forward to future generations. Recognizing the need and providing services that are immediate, appropriate, effective, and accessible can make the difference between continuing a life cycle of repeated violence and traumatization or providing personal, familial, and community wellbeing.
This collaborative approach can be utilized in other programming throughout Health Departments to enhance, increase, and improve services without additional expenditures.
