Michael Edelstein is a medical doctor specialized in infectious disease epidemiology. He leads on immunization data at Public Health England, England’s national public health agency. He is also a member of the World Health Organization’s working group on immunization data quality. His main area of interests are the use of data to identify and address local inequalities in vaccine uptake, and the impact of technology and digital health in particular, on immunization data. In addition to these roles, Michael is a research fellow at the Centre on Global Health Security, Chatham House, an honorary associate professor at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and the president of the Infectious Diseases Control section of the European Public Health Association.
