Program Manager, Public Health Promotion

Khatidja Dawood, Program Manager, plans and directs the Public Health Promotion (PHP) Area for the Hennepin County Public Health Department in Minnesota. As manager of the PHP program area, her responsibilities include determining the need for services and program improvements; developing resources and plans to meet those needs; and evaluating the service/program outcomes. She also engages in strategic planning for public health and collaborations with other program areas within the County and with other jurisdictions, including state and federal agencies, to achieve mutual outcomes. She was the Principle Investigator for the County’s Community Transformation Grant and the Director of the Statewide Health Improvement Program Grant for the County. Prior to serving in this position, she served as Assistant Section Manager for the Minnesota Department of Health’s Center for Health Promotion. She has a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California (Los Angeles) and a M.S. in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health.
