Health Scientist/Evaluation Specialist

Ms. Brandy L. Maddox, MPH, MCHES is currently a Health Scientist/Evaluation Specialist at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Division of STD Prevention. In this role, she serves as the primary program evaluation technical assistance provider for 12 federally funded STD control programs. She currently serves as a program evaluation subject matter expert on a cross-division workgroup to address increasing congenital syphilis rates in targeted high-morbidity jurisdictions across the U.S. and has led coordination of the development of program measures to assess outcomes of key activities to address congenital syphilis. Ms. Maddox has over ten years of practical experience in chronic and infectious disease prevention and emergency response at the international, federal, state, and local levels with focus areas in program management, program evaluation, infection control, disease investigation, and mixed-methods research. She received her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health with a concentration in behavioral science and is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist.
