Anne-Marie Braga is the Director of the Office of Planning, Partnerships and Improvement (OPPI) at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. OPPI works to improve Colorado's public and environmental health system through providing consultation, technical assistance and training to local public health agencies; serving as a liaison to strengthen state and locals relationships; leading the state and local assessment and planning processes; and implementing system improvement strategies to ensure all Coloradans have the opportunity to reach their full health potential in a safe and healthy environment. Anne-Marie's dedication to and constant focus on community engagement and health equity allows her to successfully broker strengths-based solutions to build and improve Colorado’s public health system. Prior to her current role, Anne-Marie spent over a decade at the department supporting programs affecting children, youth and families. This included serving in a variety of positions such as the Director of Programs and Initiatives and the Youth and Young Adult Unit Manager for the Children, Youth and Families Branch. She also served as Interim Director for the Office of Health Equity. Prior to moving to Colorado, Anne-Marie dedicated the early part of her career as a case manager in rural Arkansas; provided counseling and afterschool programs to inner-city youth in New York City; and managed early childhood programs in both New York and Colorado. Anne-Marie has also earned a variety of state and national awards for her work and holds a Masters of Science degree in Social Work from Columbia University.
