Brook McKelvey received her MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2001 and currently serves as the Maternal and Child Health Epidemiologist at the Metro Public Health Department in Nashville, Tennessee. She has 18 years of experience in maternal and child health epidemiology methods and analysis, needs assessment, data collection, and database management. In the course of her career she has supported numerous MCH programs with data and technical expertise including the Fetal and Infant Mortality Review, Music City Healthy Start, Baby & Me Tobacco Free, and several infant mortality reduction coalitions. She currently leads the Child Fatality Review Team of Nashville/Davidson County, and serves on the Tennessee Department of Health Suicide Prevention Task Force and the Maternal Child and Adolescent Health workgroup of NACCHO. When she’s not crunching numbers, she and her husband are serving the five superior beings known as miniature schnauzers that have taken over her house. Rumor has it that number six will be arriving soon.
