Dr. Travis Gayles is the Health Officer and Chief of Public Health Services for Montgomery County, Maryland. He is the former Chief Medical Officer of the DC Department of Health’s HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and Tuberculosis Administration. Dr. Gayles is a clinically trained pediatrician who trained and formerly practiced in the Division of Adolescent Medicine at the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago/Northwestern Feingberg School of medicine, where he oversaw the HIV Treatment and Prevention Program. He currently chairs the Maryland State Immunization Commission, and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Government’s Health Officer Committee.
