Lead Analyst, Performance Improvement

Barbara Laymon, who joined the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) in January 2008, is a Lead Program Analyst for the Performance Improvement team. Previously at NACCHO, she worked for the Advanced Practice Centers Program and for the National Profile of Local Health Departments study. Beginning in 2011, she has served as the Lead Analyst for the Healthy People 2020-NACCHO partnership, with a focus on the Healthy People Social Determinants of Health framework.
Barbara has worked in governmental public health at local and state levels and for a managed care organization. She has served in various capacities, including Epidemiology Analyst, Community Health Planner, Nutrition Educator, State Health Planner, and Research Analyst.
Barbara’s background includes a PhD from Loyola University, MD, an MPH from the University of South Carolina, a graduate certificate in Applied Epidemiology from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and a BS in Math-Computer Science from Furman University. She is licensed as a clinical professional counselor.
