Veronica Cosby, MS, MAHS
Veronica Cosby is the Virginia Partners in Prayer & Prevention Project Coordinator with the Virginia Department of Health: Office of Health Equity. Veronica’s academic training and education includes her studies in Psychology, Human Services and Public Health. She recently, complete her second Masters of Arts in Human Services from Liberty University. She holds degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University and Walden University. Veronica‘s work experience spans in human services, community engagement, academic instruction and guidance. Her work with non-profit organizations such Communities In Schools, served many communities and resources impacted youth and families in Central Richmond and surrounding counties.
Presently, Veronica’s work with Virginia P3 program helps in VDH’s efforts broaden the scope of prevention to several key public health issues disproportionately impacting underserved and marginalized communities. She speaks to faith and interfaith congregations and groups throughout the state of Virginia, educating communities about health promotion and prevention. Her work with Virginia P3 has been and continues to be a support to our faith and interfaith communities to building and sustaining health outreach to educate and bring awareness to congregations and the communities they serve. Veronica’s work in establishing and implementing this initiative led to the Virginia P3 program to receive the ASTHO Vision Award 2017, as an innovative program to that has enhanced health promotion and reduce health disparities.
