Denise Bryan is an Administrative Health Officer in Northeast Michigan serving 8 counties for 2 local health departments. She has over 25 years of experience in public health leadership and her areas of expertise include Communicable Disease Investigation, Epidemiology and Surveillance, Emergency Preparedness, Community Resiliency, Maternal and Infant Health and Health Policy. Ms. Bryan was recently honored with a Michigan Advocacy Award recognizing her efforts in addressing PFAS contamination at the former site of the Wurtsmith Air Force Base. Additionally, she was honored in 2004 when she was nominated for the Office of Inspector General, USDA: Enhancing Protection and Safety of the Nation's Agriculture and Food Supply award. Ms. Bryan has used her education and experience to develop a decision-making framework for public health incorporating principles of finance, environment, and social justice.
