Ms. Catherine (Cathi) Tegtmeier is the Assistant Commissioner for Community Health with the Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health.Cathi’s experience encompasses many facets of healthcare including direct patient care and public health. Her professional experience includes RN in adult and neonatal critical care units. She worked 15 years as a Flight Nurse and obtained certifications as a Flight Nurse and Medical Transport Executive. Cathi entered public health as a Medical Reserve Corps Coordinator, progressing to EMS Coordinator and Director of Communicable Disease Control and Emergency Preparedness.
Cathi has a master’s degree in Public Health (Health Policy and Management) from New York Medical College and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Mount Saint Mary College. She is currently certified as an Associate Emergency Manager by the International Association of Emergency Managers. She is the recipient of 2011 Excellence in Clinical Nursing by NYSNA District 12 Nurses Association (now the Dutchess-Putnam Nurses Association) and the 2019 Dutchess County Harriet C. Weber EMS Leadership Award. She is a member of the Dutchess Putnam Nurses Association Board of Directors, Dutchess Community College Paramedic Program and Nursing Program Advisory Boards, Rhinebeck Emergency Preparedness Committee and Treasurer for Roosevelt Volunteer Fire Company #3 in Hyde Park New York..
