Maricopa County Dept. of Public Health
Molly McNamara is currently the Training Officer for Maricopa County Dept. of Public Health (MCDPH). In this role, her primary work involves the implementation and oversight of the Department's Workforce Development Plan. She also provides technical assistance for learning and development needs across MCDPH, including course design and instructor led classroom delivery. Since her time with MCDPH, she has coordinate teams in the creation of an interactive New Employee Orientation with a new hire checklist, and the creation of a proprietary supervisor and manager training. The course development, including supporting needs assessments, are based on compentencies identified by MCDPH, which rely heavily on the Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (Council on Linkages) Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals.
Ms. McNamara currently serves as Co-Chair of the NACCHO Workforce and Leadership Development Committee. In her time on the committee, part of her work includes participation in smaller work groups related to the Chief Health Strategist competencies.
Ms. McNamara has a BA degree in English with a minor in Women's Studies and a master's degree in social work, all from the University of Iowa.
