Claudia Lozano has worked in the public health sector for 14 years in various positions with state and local government entities as well as university institutions. Her areas of expertise include clinical and applied research, border health, and cancer prevention. She authored four publications to disseminate research study results on the evaluation of a community-based program to increase cervical cancer screening, cardiovascular risk factors, fatty liver disease in youth, and ultrasonography for the guidance of anesthesia. Claudia currently manages the Medicaid Waiver program, at the City of El Paso health department since 2014, where more than 18,000 participants have accessed preventive health screenings as part of evidence-based and innovative testing strategies to include fire stations as clinic sites, mobile dental unit, health information exchange, border health interest group and community health atlas. In July of 2018, the program received an award for promising model practice by NACCHO.
